Welcome to Aikins Academy. I am Mr. John Aikins, the founder, and heart behind this unique educational venture. My story, and consequently the story of Aikins Academy, is one of passion, dedication, and a lifelong commitment to nurturing the potential in every child.

Meet Mr John Aikins

My Roots in Education

Born into a family of educators, I was introduced to the noble art of teaching at a young age. My mother, a dedicated teacher, instilled in me the values of patience, understanding, and the transformative power of education. These values became the cornerstone of my approach to teaching and life.

My professional life first took a different path in accounting, but the seeds of education were always there, germinating. The real pivot came with my own children. I took on the mantle of their tutor, blending the values of faith, discipline, and academic rigor that I had inherited. The success was evident when they achieved full scholarships and bursaries to prestigious institutions, with my son currently on a full scholarship at Eton College. This personal triumph was not just a proud moment as a father, but a clarion call to my true purpose.

Fuelled by my success with my children, and my deep-seated love for mentoring and teaching, Aikins Academy was born. It was more than a tutoring service; it was a commitment to bring out the best in every child. As a Sunday school teacher and counsellor in church, I had honed the skill of understanding and guiding young minds. This, combined with my professional acumen, formed the cornerstone of Aikins Academy.

My faith is an integral part of who I am and how I run Aikins Academy. It guides my actions and interactions with every child and family. This path I tread is not just a profession; it is a calling. The joy and fulfilment I derive from seeing our students succeed and grow are immeasurable.
